Discharging your water into the sanitary sewer system is prohibited

As the thaw begins, we remind you that discharging water from your sump pump into the sanitary sewer system is prohibited. Why is this important? Clean water overloads the sanitary system and can cause backups for your neighbours.

Please refer to Bylaw 73-210..

‍Where to direct this water:

- Into your backyard;

- Towards a ditch (canal);

- Never into the sanitary sewer.
